Anker Wireless Vertical Mouse

Overview

It's funny how big of a difference 90 degrees can make on your quality of life! Many of us spend between 1200 to 2000 hours per year at our computers clicking and scrolling, so finding the best vertical mouse with ergonomic design can have a significant impact on daily comfort and reduction in pain. The best vertical mouse will prevent the standard pronation of your wrist when using regular non ergonomic mice, instead, a handshake position relieves tension, puts your wrist and hand in a more natural position and can reduce the risk for repetitive stress injuries like carpal tunnel or mouse elbow. The bestselling Evoluent Vertical Mouse 4 is the industry leading best ergonomic mouse known for its performance and intelligent design, that comes with a premium price tag. After searching and testing countless others we found the Anker 2.4G matched the comfort and performance. There are very few differences in these 2 ergonomic mice, but there is a huge difference in price. If you are intending to use this mouse for gaming check out our detailed review on The Best Gaming Mouse.

Who Should Buy The Brand

Possibly the best ergonomic mouse currently available the Evoluent VerticalMouse 4 places the hand in a natural relaxed position. The brand has many years of designing high-performance ergonomics which have great reviews but unfortunately, come with a luxury price tag. Compared to the Anker the Evoluent offers an additional button and a flared out lip that prevents the pinkie from dragging, as well as being overall a larger mouse. If you are willing to spend the extra money and have exceptionally large hands, this may be a better mouse for you. If you have large, average sized or small hands you will save money and get a nearly identical experience with the Anker wireless vertical ergonomic mouse.

Who Should Buy The Alternative

The Anker 2.4G wireless ergonomic mouse is not only a bestseller itself, but performs exceedingly well at reducing strain and tension in the wrist and arm, just like the Evoluent. With nearly all of the same core features the Anker caught our attention by having more battery space which leads to fewer battery swaps and utilized the more versatile optical laser vs. standard laser for tracking. Also, we found it a better choice for shared computers because of it's more standard size that comfortably fits a wider range of hands. While these are both great ergonomic mice, if you are looking for an all around very well designed ergonomic mouse that feels great in the hand the Anker Vertical Mouse is a fantastic money saving option that does not sacrifice performance.

DPI

DPI is the distance the cursor moves in relation to the distance you move the mouse. The Evoluent has a wider range of DPI which is 800-2600, however, we never strayed from 1200DPI after finding 2600DPI was massive overkill and far too sensitive for normal use.

DPI

The Anker 2.4G has a DPI range of 800-1600 which is more than enough for any use we could conceive. Do not be tricked into paying extra for a wider range of DPI, it has no value.

Battery

The Evoluent Vertical mouse only requires 1 AA, which was surprising for such a large mouse. As you would guess, this means a shorter battery life and more interruptions. You will want rechargeable batteries.

Battery

Both are wireless, but the Anker takes 2 AAA batteries, which leads to a longer life than the Evoluent. Furthering the battery life is an auto power saver feature which we found useful during the testing.

Comfort

Known for beautiful and functional aesthetics, the Evoluent being a mouse for carpal tunnel is designed to fit the ergonomic position of a handshake grip to reduce tension.

Comfort

The Anker matches this handshake design perfectly. Both place the hand, wrist, and arm in a more relaxed position which can reduce a pain that is often called mouse elbow.

Optical / Laser

The Evoluent hovers smoothly but uses a standard laser for tracking which does not perform well on all surfaces. We found the optical laser in the Anker to be a better option.

Optical / Laser

With Optical tracking, the Anker is usable in more situations. Optical tracking lasers are preferable because they pick up different surfaces better than a laser which results in smoother cursor navigation.
